Dr Nansia Kyriakou works as a Lecturer at Frederick University. She received her PhD in Education and MSc in Educational Research Methods from the University of Exeter and an MPhil in Research in Second Language Learning from the University of Cambridge. She has a bachelor’s degree in Primary School Education from the University of Cyprus. She teaches undergraduate courses at the Bed in Primary and Pre-primary Education programs, while she also teaches postgraduate courses in distant learning programs. She participated in European research projects and currently coordinating an Erasmus+ KA2 project, Reinventing Mainstream Classrooms. Current research interests mainly lie in the fields of multilingualism, multiculturalism, bidialectism, and language learning and assessment. She has published papers in academic journals, chapters in educational books, and conference proceedings. She has developed eLearning materials for teaching Greek as a second language both for younger learners as well as adult language learners of Greek. She has co-authored the new school textbooks for teaching Greek as a second language in Cyprus. She has taken part in and coordinated multiple international conferences and has trained in-service teachers across the country. She is presently coordinating the new master’s program “Intercultural Studies and Greek as a 2nd/foreign language”.
