Alexandros Kofteros, PhD was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Christmas Eve of 1974. His parents bought his first computer, an Atari 520STFM in early 1988. Alexadros started programming the same year, and a year later started developing video games. He begun his studies at the Higher Technical Institute (Electrical Engineering) but moved after one year to the University of Cyprus for a B.A. in Education. During the studies, Alexandros bought his first Macintosh computer and with savings from the part time jobs, and a Bank Loan, he purchased Hypercard 2.2 and later Macromedia Studio 3. Alexandros continued his studies with an M.A. on Curriculum and Instruction and a PhD on Information and Communication Technologies. He has been working as a teacher since 1999, with a brief hiatus from the classroom between 2009-2011 to work at the Pedagogical Institute, developing educational content for supporting ICT in Education. Alexandros’ personal and research interests include Online Learning Management Systems, video games in education and computer history. With the childhood friend, Nicholas Ktenas, Alexandros founded (2014) the first Cyprus Computer History Museum. Alexandros recently authored a book titled Artificial Intelligence: Teaching & Learning with AI – an introductory guide for using AI in Eduction.
