Dr Christodoulou holds a doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the City University of London and an MSc in the Foundations of Clinical Psychology from Bangor University of Wales. She has a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Reading and is an accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist in the United Kingdom (BABCP Accredited), a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and EMDR therapist. She is a licensed psychologist and works as an assistant professor and clinical supervisor on the MSc of Forensic Psychology at UCLan University, Cyprus. As part of her research work, she trials interventions based on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness-based approaches to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents, university students and employees. She has received funding from local and European bodies for the implementation of preventative programs on adolescents, young adults, prisoner and employee populations. Amont other work, she has published papers on ACT for young adults (e.g., Christodoulou, Flaxman, & Lloyd, 2021) and book chapters on the use of ACT and personal values with adolescents and young adults (e.g., Christodoulou, 2020; Pistorello, Hayes, Lillis, Long, Christodoulou, et al. (2012).
