Catherine is the Artistic Director of Little Muse Theatre in Larnaka, and has been working in theatre in Cyprus as an actress, teacher, storyteller, theatre director & mentor since 1999. She has toured her work to Japan, China, Taiwan, Israel and Turkey. Catherine also runs a drama school which currently has 70 children from 3-18yrs.
Over the last 25 years she has been working towards the development of good quality theatre for young people. Catherine works with children of different nationalities across Cyprus and nurtures and mentors them to talented artists. She is devoted to mentoring child creativity through the medium of theatre. Her main areas of focus are empathy, social responsibility and life improvisation skills
Catherine’s play, “Kriftouli” (Hide & Seek) , was awarded Best Children’s play by THOK in 2012. Her efforts deservedly received the 2017 Cyprus-National Business Woman of the Year Award which is recognized as a valuable tool of driving force, empowerment and inspiration for women who work hard and gain recognition by society. She was also selected as one of three finalists for The International UK Mentor of the Year Award 2019. In the same year she was invited to give a Tedx talk on her work with young people.
Currently, Catherine is directing three plays with young people, to be performed at Larnaka Municipal Theatre: Our Day Out by Willy Russell, Totally Over You by Mark Ravenhill & The Emperor’s New Clothes by Kaye Umansky
She is branching out into novel writing & currently devising a new play for children, called “The Gift Horse”, as well as adapting a play she toured to China, “Just Imagine”, into a children’s picture book.
In November 2024, spoke at a conference held by Assitej Cyprus about her commitment to the development of children’s theatre over the last 25yrs and her pioneering artistic contribution to the field.
